Problems In North Park

The following message is really important, and I hope you all will consider helping, because we are now at serious risk of losing trail access in a section of North Park. Recently the park naturalist “taped” off access to trails at the nature center that she claims were recently
built and are rogue (I think her position, as conveyed to me, is patently false, but I won’t know what she is claiming until I meet with her in person). I know several riding groups want continued access to some trails there. I want to preserve access to those trails because
(1) they are good trails,
(2) they have been there years, and
(3) thus far, no one has given us a good reason as to why they should be off limits to riding (except of course the Braille Trail).
So I need your input as soon as possible as to what you would like to remain open. Maybe you want all of them open (PTAG will support that).
Please call email me or call me at 412-559-0470. We can also meet tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. on Ridge at the work-day to discuss it (if you have other
stuff to do, no one will expect you to stay and work after this meeting). Please come to help keep these trails open to riders – whether you love PTAG or hate us, we need your input. Riders now risk the wholesale loss of existing riding rights in that area. The Park Director called me this a.m. informing me that he, Meg (the naturalist) and I will have to walk the trails, and I presume he will make a decision after that. Thank you for your time and please feel free to send this email to other “posses” who may not
read PORC, PTAG, or other forums.

Please also be aware that the Park Naturalist reads the forums and monitors our activities.

If this was wrote friday the meeting was saturday so I guess I missed it. But wouldnt it take alot to just go into north park and declare trails off limit. With all respect to naturalists this still sounds a little quack to not let riders pass through. Hunters maybee but the only trace bikers leave is carbon dioxide, shit the trails are still going to be there for a long time this needs to be resolved. By building more trails out there that naturalists can walk on that are in another area than where bikers ride.
